Celebrating personal excellence

Celebrating personal excellence

Zachary Evans (Year 9) is welcomed into the College's Academic Excellence Programme by Principal, Mr Shaun Kenny.

The College celebrated a semester of personal excellence this morning, with a special assembly recognising boys who achieved brilliant results across five different areas.

Parents of boys receiving awards were invited to attend the assembly, completing the College community at this special event.

Certificates of Excellence were presented to 44 boys who achieved high academic results across all subjects in their Semester 1 reports.

The Academic Excellence Programme also welcomed its newest members, many of whom are in Year 7, who all placed within the top 15% of at least three of their subjects last semester.

CBC once again celebrated brilliant results in the Australian Geography Competition, with boys from Years 9 to 12 receiving Distinctions and High Distinctions, placing them in the top 10% and 1% of results, respectively.

Head of English, Ms Kerry Faichney, presented special certificates to 19 gentlemen from Year 8, whose creative writing pieces were chosen to be published as part of the Write4Fun competition. The competition only publishes the best 200 entries, meaning 10% of published pieces were written by boys from CBC.

Three Year 8 boys who achieved fantastic results in the Australian Music Examinations Board's Grade One theory exam were also commended in front of the College community. Ms Emma Tandy presented one Pass, for achieving over 65%, and two High Distinctions to students who achieved over 95%.

A key attribute of the CBC gentleman, as outlined in the College's journey document, is striving to be his best, and understanding the inherent value in doing so. The College is committed to recognising boys who achieve this at all stages of their time at CBC.
