The First Step of 2018

The First Step of 2018

Students spent the day working closely with their Mentor teachers and peers to prepare for their final year of high school.

The College was abuzz today as Year 12 students returned for a Retreat in order to prepare for the exciting and challenging year ahead.

The day began in the Blessed Edmund Chapel, where the College's new leaders joined in prayer with staff, and reflected on their responsibilities as role models at CBC.

The Gospel reading John 13:1-20 describes Jesus washing his disciples' feet, an act of humble comfort and love, encouraging the Class of 2018 to lead through strong acts of service and to focus on what they can do to make the world a better place.

Students spent the remainder of the day considering their future, as they begin to make the transition from high school students into tomorrow's gentlemen.

The young men spent much of the day in their Houses and Mentor Groups, planning the year and working to set challenges for each other over the months ahead.

Students were also visited by a number of Old Boys, who shared some tips they learnt during their journey from the beginning of Year 12.

As is tradition, the young gentlemen shared lunch with their peers and CBC staff, reflecting on years' gone by and their final year.

Tomorrow, the College welcomes the Class of 2024 Year 7 students and their Year 12 buddies will commence their leadership by showing them the ropes of their new school.
